In-Class (Virtual)
What better way to show your students that Science is Everywhere?
Looking for exciting experiential science that your students can do from home? Our Virtual Learning Program is grade-level specific, inquiry-based, experiential, and standards-aligned. Its combination of live video meetings and hands-on activities to be done at home allows for robust discussions as well as engaging hands-on experimentation using common, readily available household materials.
Our Virtual Learning Program demonstrates to students that we can do science wherever we are and with whatever we have available to us.
In this 8-unit program, each unit has about 3 hours of activities meant to be spread out over 5 days. Units are arranged around themes.
1. Each unit begins with asynchronous activities that introduce a phenomenon designed to stimulate curiosity and elicit questions.
2. A live, 30-45 minute video lesson takes place on day 3 of each unit. This lesson includes hands-on science experiments or engineering activities, robust discussions, and demonstrations.
3. Throughout the unit, students engage with the content, with classmates, and with teachers, by posting their own comments and questions on a virtual message board.
4. At the end of each week, following more asynchronous activities, students share their results on the message board.

In-School Instruction
Science taught by scientists.
Our educators have advanced degrees in STEM fields. They team up with 3-4 volunteers per class to facilitate monthly science instruction and small group experiments in elementary school classrooms. Our volunteers are STEM professionals who share their passion and enthusiasm for science while mentoring.
Our educators and volunteers partner with classroom teachers and science specialists to ensure that our elementary students benefit from our love of science and receive the highest quality science education possible.
Everyone from Science is Elementary is dedicated to the same class of students throughout the year to further form close relationships and deepen students’ fascination with science.
Role models are crucial to the development of scientific literacy. Our educators and volunteers are passionate and enthusiastic about science and that enthusiasm is infectious! Regular in-class sessions, year after year, ensure continuity of learning and the development of strong mentor relationships.
