Loafing Around for a Good Cause: The Science of Bread

Are you passionate about bread? Do you enjoy learning about the science behind it? If so, then you won't want to miss The Science of Bread event on May 11. This unique event combines the art of breadmaking with the science behind it, all while raising money for a good cause.

Bread-making is both an art and a science. At its most basic level, bread is made from flour, water, yeast, and salt. But there's so much more to it than that. The science of bread-making involves understanding the complex chemical reactions that take place when these simple ingredients are mixed together.

At The Science of Bread, you'll have the opportunity to watch the professional bakers at Backhaus demonstrate their craft, learn about the science behind breadmaking, and sample some delicious breads.

All proceeds from the event will go towards supporting Science is Elementary’s STEM education programs in underserved communities. By attending, you'll be helping to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators.
